Into the Wild Blue Yonder

Layering once again over this TJ Maxx teal dress. I'm glad that such an intense color has become such a versatile piece of my wardrobe. This cobalt, puffed sleeve peasant top will also be a good addition to dressier outfits as well as more casual when paired with jeans. My necklace is a costume piece that belonged to my grandma. It was recently sent to me from my mom after she was able to repair and reinforce it. Don't want a repeat of the "Great Pearl Disaster of 2012".

My sparkly hair clip comes from comes from Treena Bean won in a giveaway hosted by Olive and Arrow! Thank you ladies!

Mint Chocolate Chip

CP and I were discussing how we need to be more adventurous in our clothing choices as we noticed that everything we wear is black, blue and white. It struck me, as we were talking about how much we loved bright pops of color, that I wasn in a monochrome outfit. Thankfully I had a small spot of color from my raw silk scarf that made the outfit a little less plain. But, in light of our blue and black obsession, we're committed to adding color and prints to our stripey, navy wardrobe with a shopping trip this weekend. Here's to hoping we can avoid pretty navy blue chiffon and jump into floral dresses and ikat prints!

Soft Grey Skies

I picked up this dress at Old Navy yesterday and I am completely in love. It is 100% rayon, so it is as soft as your favorite nightgown, but would be appropriate for just about any summer activity. I wore this to work today and couldn't help but daydream about wearing it on my vacation to the quaint seaside village my grandparents live in.
Counting down the days!

My beautifully, sparkly, cubic zirconia stud earrings are courtesy of Say Hello Diamonds won in a giveaway hosted by beijos Tiffany
Thank you to both for such gorgeous earrings!

My new antique-style cuff bracelet comes from Treena Bean won in a giveaway hosted by Olive and Arrow
Thank you to those ladies as well!

Orange You Glad

I don't wear orange (and never have) so you can imagine what a surprise it was to me when I discovered that I actually like it. Somehow this basic Loft tee (I wear a lot of them, I know) veered away from Halloween, pumpkins and construction worker by being just red enough to be trendy and just orange enough to be surprising. I loved it paired with the blue (I tried black and it did go Halloween immediately), perhaps because the colors are opposites on the spectrum and we all know how opposites attract. I thought that the outfit was best kept simple with such a bright wardrobe item and love the way it turned out.

Fountain of Blessings

Hello there sunshine! You have been missed! It was quite refreshing this afternoon to walk out into the breezy, bright world and enjoy a little mist from the fountain as we stopped to smell the roses. I layered my beloved chambray shirt today, but left it unbuttoned to change up the look a bit as well as to catch a bit of the cool air wafting through my sunny office window. I could certainly get used to more of this perfectly perfect weather.
