Take a Spin in Tangerine

I just received this new J. Crew top in the mail and love the color. Because the weather was supposed to be nice on Friday, I wanted to pair it with a bright, light skirt. I pulled this Gap jersey dress from the closet (I own it in two colors) and pulled the thicker knit top over it to make a color-blocked ensemble that matched my mood. Pairing two items in your closet that don't traditionally go together is the best way to feel as if you have a fresh look without going out and spending too much money. We took these photos as I was feeling the onset of an awful flu, that I am now sick in bed with, so I'm happy to have gotten them out of the way before looking completely miserable. Happy, if measly, in bed with Mad Men and my magazines for the month (Elle, Real Simple, Food and Wine, Glamour), I'm glad I don't have any plans for the weekend that involve looking cute or acting alive.

Top: J. Crew; Dress: The Gap (similar); Belt: Forever 21; Bag: Vintage Coach; Shoes: Target

I love everything about this outfit! Ooooh - I don't even know what I like best!

We just got over some bad colds over here, too. I'm sorry you are sick!

Feel better!

That skirt really pops! It kind of looks like the Seattle botanical gardens behind you! I lived there for a few years, and miss it every day. It's fun looking through your photos for the scenery (and of course cute outfits)! Your newest follower!
